We were a little late to carve our pumpkins this year because October was just an outrageously crazy emotional roller coaster for your family. What would the holiday seasons be without some family time though? Hard times are rough.
When things never go right & everything seems to hurt I've learned to dig deep & see what's truly a blessing, small or big, and hold on to it dearly. Cherish everything. You never know when you'll need it most & when things may be gone for good.
Since this was Aubrey’s first year of pumpkins I didn’t feel comfortable handing over carving knives. I mean I like to think I’m a cool mom but not that cool. We changed it up a bit & decided let her paint it! Sweet & simple & of course lots of mess! It wouldn't be fun without lots of mess.
To spare some messiness & not completely overwhelm her with excitement, we only painted two colors at a time. She was so proud of her painted pumpkins it was adorable. I love doing things together as a family & especially fun traditions she'll remember, so why not capture them while I can?!
